Elon Musk Congratulates PM Modi on X Follower Milestone

Tesla CEO Elon Musk congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the most followed world leader on the social media platform X. Musk called Modi the “world’s most followed leader” in a post on X.

On June 20, 2023, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tesla chief executive Elon Musk in New York City.

“Congratulations PM @NarendraModi on being the most followed world leader!” Musk wrote on X.

PM Modi expressed his happiness about reaching 100 million followers on X on July 14. He posted, “A hundred million on @X! I’m happy to be in this vibrant medium and cherish the discussion, debate, insights, people’s blessings, constructive criticism, and more. Looking forward to an equally engaging time in the future as well.” Modi joined X in 2009 and gained 30 million followers in the last three years.

Other heads of government with a large following include US President Joe Biden with 38.1 million followers and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan with 21.5 million followers.

In June, Musk had also congratulated Modi on winning the Lok Sabha elections. “Congratulations @narendramodi on your victory in the world’s largest democratic elections! Looking forward to my companies doing exciting work in India,” Musk wrote. Musk himself has 190.1 million followers on X.
